As you know, a few days ago, the India Times published information that coach Park Hang Seo had applied to lead the Indian national team. The newspaper wrote: "Coach Park Hang Seo, who has brought Vietnamese football to the continental level, is one of the famous people who applied to lead the Indian national team.

The All India Football Federation has so far received 214 applications for the job of national team coach. The number of applications is expected to increase as there is still a week left before the deadline on July 3.

Contrary to this information, Coach Park Hang Seo confirmed that he has not applied to lead the Indian team. Instead, he is still considering this possibility.

Lee Dong Jun, director of DJ Management (the company representing coach Park Hang Seo), told Newsis: "We have not officially applied for the position of head coach of the Indian national team. Since the deadline for application is July 3, we need to carefully consider the situation."

Coach Park Hang Seo is expected to return to Korea today to take care of some work. Although denying that his client has applied to lead the Indian team, Mr. Lee Dong Jun still has a positive view on this job.

He said: "Coach Park Hang Seo has become the pioneer Korean coach in developing football in Southeast Asia. I think this is a good opportunity for him to continue to develop his talent and become the pioneer Korean coach in South Asia. This is a positive challenge for Coach Park Hang Seo."

Despite being a strong team in South Asia, India has not made much of an impression on the continental stage. They have not had any outstanding achievements in the World Cup or Asian Cup qualifiers. Recently, India was painfully eliminated in the second round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers after a controversial match against Qatar. That made them decide to fire coach Igor Stimac.

As for coach Park Hang Seo, he has not yet accepted an invitation to lead any team after leaving the Vietnam national team in early 2023. He is currently working as a senior advisor at Bac Ninh Club, but he still affirms that he is ready to return to the coaching bench if he receives a reasonable offer.
