On the morning of November 7, the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade coordinated with the People's Committee of Quoc Oai district to organize the Exhibition of OCOP products, handicrafts and craft villages of Quoc Oai district in 2024.


The exhibition is the fourth event in a series of events promoting and trading OCOP products, handicrafts and craft villages serving tourism under the Plan for Developing the Center for Creative Design, introducing, promoting and selling OCOP products, craft villages associated with tourism in districts and towns in Hanoi in 2024.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang - Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade - said: implementing Plan No. 227/KH-UBND dated October 11, 2021 of the City People's Committee to implement Program 04-CTr/TU dated March 17, 2021 of the Hanoi Party Committee on "Promoting the effective implementation of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction associated with restructuring the agricultural sector and developing the rural economy, improving the material and spiritual life of farmers in the period 2021-2025", the Department of Industry and Trade is assigned to preside over and coordinate with departments, branches and localities to develop and implement the Plan to develop the Center for Creative Design, introduce, promote and sell OCOP products, craft villages associated with tourism in districts and towns; with the goal of creating a connecting environment between artisans, skilled workers, young design teams with entrepreneurial spirit, promoting local cultural advantages, and the economic development aspirations of the community in craft villages in districts and towns of the City.

Quoc Oai district currently has 22 artisans from craft villages who have been awarded by the State, including 1 Meritorious Artisan awarded by the President and 21 Artisans recognized by the city. In addition, there are hundreds of artisans and skilled workers in the district who have been honored.

In 2024, the Hanoi People's Committee assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over the recognition of the model of Creative Design Center, introducing, promoting and selling OCOP products, craft villages associated with tourism at the commune level for districts in the city. In particular, Tan Hoa commune, Quoc Oai district is 1 of 6 locations proposed to be recognized as the model of Creative Design Center, introducing, promoting and selling OCOP products, craft village products associated with tourism at the commune level in 2024.

“We hope that after being recognized, this will be a bright spot in developing the Creative Design Center model, introducing, promoting and selling OCOP products, craft villages associated with commune-level tourism, becoming a place for exchange, connection, and displaying craft village products; a driving force for developing more Creative Design Center models in the district,” Mr. Nguyen Dinh Thang shared.

The exhibition promises to be a place to introduce and promote unique and typical products of Quoc Oai district's craft villages, contributing to enhancing the value of handicraft products, OCOP, craft villages, building a chain of links from creative design, production - processing, product consumption in domestic and international tourist markets on the basis of preserving and promoting traditional cultural values ​​of craft villages associated with community tourism activities, agricultural and rural tourism in the circular economy, contributing to the implementation of the National Target Program on new rural construction in the period of 2021-2025.

The exhibition of OCOP products, handicrafts and craft villages of Quoc Oai district in 2024 takes place from November 7 to November 10 at auction area DG03, Quoc Oai town.
