Currently, in the province, there are 13 macadamia planting projects approved by the province for investment, with a total scale of 61,223 hectares. Up to now, 5/13 projects have been approved by investors for investment projects, 2/13 projects have completed investment project establishment and organized to collect opinions for appraisal from relevant departments, branches and local authorities where the project is implemented as a basis for project approval. The projects have measured and identified land owners for 21,573 hectares, reaching 35% of the total area to be measured; planted 6,629 hectares, reaching 15% of the approval progress by 2024. The whole province has established 12 cooperatives and 157 macadamia cooperative groups in the region to implement the projects.
The implementation of macadamia planting projects is facing many difficulties and obstacles, such as: The progress of macadamia planting according to the commitment of investors and the 2024 plan is still very slow; up to now, the planting season is approaching, but most businesses have not yet prepared the necessary conditions (site, seedlings, ...). Most investors have difficulty mobilizing capital to implement the project, so investing in expanding the area of macadamia trees is still difficult; carrying out legal procedures on land takes a long time, often encountering obstacles (land disputes, people in some places do not agree, ...) which affects the progress of land measurement and ownership and makes it difficult to create core areas to focus on project implementation.
At the conference, investors raised the main difficulties and obstacles leading to the slow progress of projects, such as: Unsatisfactory project implementation procedures; problems with planning for 3 types of forests; annual increase in forest area for areas assigned to enterprises; forest fires affecting planted macadamia gardens; slow issuance of land use right certificates for people; difficulties in propaganda and mobilizing people to participate in the project; most investors are facing difficulties in investment capital... Investors recommended that the Steering Committee and provincial departments pay attention to promptly resolving and removing difficulties and obstacles to make the implementation of projects more favorable.
Concluding the conference, Comrade Lo Van Tien, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, requested the People's Committees of districts and cities to grasp the situation related to macadamia projects in the area, especially the issue of salaries and wages of people participating in labor contracts with companies; coordinate with investors to protect planted macadamia areas, and proactively implement the contents of linking macadamia projects. Based on the recommendations of investors, the provincial departments and branches organized reviews and provided satisfactory answers, especially the contents related to land. For investors, it is necessary to focus on taking care of planted gardens; overcome difficulties, try to pay salaries to workers; fully prepare conditions for planting trees according to the 2024 plan. In addition, strengthen coordination with departments, branches and localities in the process of implementing projects, especially adjusting and reducing projects according to the province's policy.
