At noon on August 20, General Secretary and President To Lam and his wife left Beijing (China), successfully concluding their State visit to China.
Responding to the press after the visit, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that the visit was a great success in all aspects, contributing significantly to the building of the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance, contributing to peace, stability and development of the region and the world.
Accordingly, General Secretary and President To Lam had a rich and meaningful program of activities with 18 events over two days.
Within the framework of the visit, the two sides issued a Joint Statement on further strengthening the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership and deepening the building of the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future.
Ministries, sectors and localities of the two countries have signed many cooperation documents in the fields of testing - quarantine, customs, health, communications, local cooperation and people's livelihood.

During the discussions, the two sides reached a broad common understanding on further strengthening the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership in the direction of “6 more”, focusing on concretizing the common understandings and agreements between the two sides.
In line with the spirit of the Joint Statement and the high-level common perceptions reached during this visit, in the coming time, the two sides will focus on promoting cooperation in key aspects.
In particular, the two sides continue to maintain strategic exchanges between high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and two countries, consolidate the foundation of political trust, and jointly orientate the building of a Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future of strategic significance.
At the same time, fully promote the role of the Party channel, the cooperation committee mechanisms between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the National People's Congress of China, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Chinese National People's Political Consultative Conference, and defense, security, and diplomatic exchange mechanisms.

The two sides also agreed to promote the overall coordinating role of the Vietnam-China Steering Committee for Bilateral Cooperation; and strengthen cooperation in the fields of defense and security.
In addition, based on the “6 more” orientation, the two sides continue to concretize the high-level common awareness and signed agreements; bring substantive cooperation to new progress; facilitate trade, expand exports of Vietnamese agricultural and aquatic products to the Chinese market.
Along with that, the two countries promote strategic development connectivity, effectively implement the Cooperation Plan connecting the “two corridors, one belt” framework with the “belt and road” initiative; accelerate the promotion of “hard connectivity” between the two countries on high-speed railways, expressways, border gate infrastructure; upgrade “soft connectivity” on smart customs and smart border gates.
The two sides encourage and support enterprises with strength, reputation and advanced technology to invest in the other country, focusing on strengthening cooperation in the fields of agriculture and infrastructure; expanding cooperation in new fields such as: digital economy, circular economy, green development, clean energy, renewable energy.

The two sides also agreed to designate 2025 as the "Year of Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange", and the two sides will jointly organize a series of activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations.
At the same time, strengthen cultural exchanges, cooperation in communications, news, publishing, radio and television; strengthen cooperation in the fields of health care, traditional medicine, prevention and mitigation of natural disasters; expand and improve the effectiveness of local cooperation, people-to-people exchanges, especially among the younger generation; promote tourism cooperation, open more flights, and encourage more and more tourists to travel to the other country.
Vietnam and China also strengthen multilateral coordination and cooperation; strengthen coordination in mechanisms such as the United Nations, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC), and support each other's candidacy for international organizations.
In particular, China supports Vietnam to host APEC 2027, supports Vietnam to join and promote its role in multilateral mechanisms, China supports ASEAN to build a united, unified, self-reliant and developing ASEAN Community, and maintain its central role in the regional structure.
At the same time, continue to implement high-level common awareness, better control and actively resolve disagreements at sea; reaffirm the importance of maintaining and promoting peace, stability, freedom of navigation and aviation in the East Sea, agree to handle disputes by peaceful means on the basis of international law and the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.
The two sides continued to coordinate effectively in implementing legal documents on land borders and related agreements, enhancing cooperation in the Vietnam-China land border area, and successfully organizing the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Land Border Treaty and the 15th anniversary of the signing of three legal documents on the Vietnam-China land border.
