According to PhoneArena , sharing on social network X, leaker Majin Bu said Apple is testing a hole-punch design for iPhone 16 Pro models. However, he also said Apple's final decision on the design may not be made until March next year.

Hole punch display coming to iPhone 16 Pro next year?

Majin Bu also hinted that the punch-hole version is more likely to appear on the iPhone 17 than the iPhone 16 Pro models - which will likely retain Dynamic Island. This information is considered more likely because Dynamic Island only debuted last year on the iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max before being deployed on all members of the iPhone 15 series in 2023.

It is known that Majin Bu is the one who provided some accurate data about the iPad mini, iPhone 12 colors as well as iPhone 15 production issues.

Earlier, when talking about the iPhone 17 series, DCSS leaker Ross Young pointed out other notable news about the 2025 models. According to Young, all members will come with larger screens, with the iPhone 17 and 17 Pro models having 6.3-inch screens, and the iPhone 17 Plus and 17 Pro Max having 6.9-inch screens. More importantly, Young predicts that in 2025, Apple will bring 120Hz ProMotion technology to the lower-end iPhone models for the first time.

Finally, Young points out the possibility that the iPhone 17 Pro will have a Face ID module built into the display, meaning the device could feature a display without any cutouts.
