At the Government press conference on the afternoon of June 1, answering the press about the business performance in the first 5 months of 2024, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment Tran Quoc Phuong said that this is an issue of great concern to public opinion and National Assembly deputies.

According to statistics, the business registration situation in May 2024 was quite positive. Specifically, the total number of newly established enterprises and enterprises entering the market and returning to operation in May 2024 reached 20,000 enterprises, an increase of 10.6% over the same period last year and 1.7 times higher than the number of enterprises withdrawing from the market.

In the first 5 months of 2024, the number of newly established and re-entering enterprises was 98,800, and the number of enterprises withdrawing from the market was 97,300.

Thus, the number of newly established and re-entering enterprises is higher than the number of enterprises withdrawing from the market, but not significantly (about 1,000 more enterprises), especially the number of enterprises withdrawing from the market is at a high level. This shows that the production and business situation of enterprises in the current context is still facing many difficulties.

“Regarding the business registration situation, we continue to closely monitor and periodically report to the Prime Minister and the Government on positive signals about the economic recovery and the increase in new business registrations. However, it is inevitable that there are still many difficulties,” said Deputy Minister Tran Quoc Phuong.

Also according to the leader of the Ministry of Planning and Investment, at the Government meeting this morning, the Prime Minister directed specific solutions to continue removing difficulties for businesses, especially in administrative procedures to create more favorable conditions for businesses to enter the market and do business smoothly.

At the same time, the Prime Minister directed solutions to support businesses through fiscal and monetary policies, credit access; or recommended that competent authorities continue to consider policies to reduce taxes; reduce and postpone fees and charges... to increase money for businesses, support input factors and solutions for output factors.
