Accordingly, at around 9:00 a.m. on May 15, after recess, the homeroom teacher discovered that NTKN (grade 1) was not in class, while the whole class did not know where N. went.

The homeroom teacher then reported the incident to the school board. The school contacted N.'s parents, but the parents said that N. had not returned home and did not know where she was.

After working with parents to search without results, the school reported the incident to the commune authorities and the Department of Education of Quynh Luu District.

The commune authorities then broadcast a search for baby N. through the commune's loudspeaker. Local fanpages with a large number of followers were also asked to post information about the search for the baby.

Ms. Phuong also said that after checking the security camera, at that time there were 2 young men riding a motorbike wearing masks heading towards the school gate, so the school was very worried. The commune government mobilized many forces to search for N.
