CNN quoted a statement from the Texas Attorney General's Office saying that in models from 2015 and later, GM is accused of using technology to "collect, record, analyze and transmit extremely detailed driving data about every time a driver uses their vehicle."

GM is the first automaker to be sued after the Texas Attorney General’s Office opened an investigation in June into automakers allegedly illegally collecting and selling large amounts of data. GM said it has been in discussions with the Texas Attorney General’s Office and is reviewing the complaint.
