Recently, the story about the deer of Thuan Ha Deer Velvet Private Enterprise in Son Giang Commune, Huong Son District that can walk on two legs and play with tourists has been widely spread. Therefore, every day, many curious locals and tourists have come to visit, experience and enjoy playing and taking pictures with the deer.

“Feeding deer and riding on their backs is a very interesting feeling. Because in the past, whenever a deer saw a stranger, it would avoid them and not be able to approach them. This deer is not only quite friendly with people but also has very beautiful antlers,” said Mr. Vo Thanh Ba in Bac Ha ward, Ha Tinh city.

Speaking to reporters, Ms. Chu Thi Hong Ha - Thuan Ha Deer Velvet Private Enterprise said that this deer was purchased in 2016 at Song Con deer farm in Quang Diem commune and was raised with 100 other deer. The deer's antlers weighed about 1 kg, grew evenly and were very beautiful.

“The difference of this deer is that it can be released from the cage, walk on two legs and play with tourists who come to visit and experience it. Tourists can ride on the deer’s back and feed it, something that has never happened before, because deer are very shy animals,” Ms. Chu Thi Hong Ha shared.

Son Giang commune in particular, and Huong Son mountainous district in general, are known as the “capital” of deer farming. Currently, the whole district has more than 44,500 deer, of which about 25,000 have produced antlers. Deer antlers and products processed from deer have high economic value and are identified as the main livestock in the construction of new rural areas in the area.

“The locality continues to encourage people to improve the quality of deer antlers, while promoting the product brand to customers. It is very rare for a deer to walk on two legs and play with tourists, but this “uniqueness” has opened up new opportunities in developing deer farming associated with new rural experience tourism,” said a representative of Son Giang commune.
