Opening the series of activities at the Con Son-Kiep Bac autumn festival this year, on the morning of September 18 (August 16 of the lunar calendar) at Nguyen Trai temple in the Con Son relic site, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee of Hai Duong province held an incense offering ceremony to commemorate the 582nd death anniversary of National Hero, World Cultural Celebrity Nguyen Trai (1442-2024).

Nguyen Trai, whose pen name was Uc Trai, was born in 1380. During his childhood, Nguyen Trai lived with his maternal grandfather in Thang Long and Con Son. In 1400, he passed the Thai Hoc Sinh exam and later became an official under the Ho Dynasty.

From 1407, the Ho Dynasty weakened, our country was under the domination of the Ming invaders. Nguyen Trai went to Lam Son to gather, devoted himself wholeheartedly, wholeheartedly helping Binh Dinh King Le Loi, becoming the soul of the resistance against the Ming invaders, liberating the country in the 15th century.

After the victory of the resistance war, under the order of King Le Loi, Nguyen Trai had the honor of writing the immortal "Binh Ngo Dai Cao". He wrote with all his heart, talent and intelligence in the heroic atmosphere of victory of the nation.

“Binh Ngo Dai Cao” is recognized by the world as the “second declaration of independence”, a “great literary work of all time”, a wonderful summary of the nation's history and the history of resistance against the Ming.

Through "Binh Ngo Dai Cao", Nguyen Trai promoted patriotism, humanitarian spirit and national pride, reflecting both the glorious career of Le Loi and his army and the heroic spirit of the Vietnamese people.

Nguyen Trai was a great hero who fought and sacrificed his whole life for the nation, a genius strategist whose great contributions contributed decisively to the victory over the Ming army and the liberation of the country. He was also an outstanding writer and poet who left behind a great literary legacy with many masterpieces.

In addition to the works that directly served the fight for independence, typically “Quan trung tu menh” and “Binh Ngo dai cao”, he also wrote “Phu nui Chi Linh” and “Van stele Vinh Lang” highlighting the achievements of Le Loi and the Lam Son insurgents, and wrote “Du dia chi” – the first historical geography book of our country…

Nguyen Trai composed hundreds of poems in Chinese and hundreds of poems in Nom, which were later collected into two books, Uc Trai Thi Tap and Quoc Am Thi Tap.

Nguyen Trai was a learned intellectual, with both talent and virtue. He was an outstanding cultural figure of the nation and a world cultural celebrity who brought glory to the country.

He is the quintessence of the nation, representing the good qualities of the Vietnamese people. He reached the highest peak in his time, doing to the fullest what an intellectual in his situation could do. He is completely worthy of the admiration and pride of the Vietnamese people and the people of the world.

Nguyen Trai was honored by UNESCO as a World Cultural Celebrity on the occasion of the 600th anniversary of his birth (1380-1980). Nguyen Trai's life and career have gone down in history, becoming a great national hero and an outstanding cultural celebrity.

Although his life ended in a tragic tragedy, his life and career had a great influence on the strategy of protecting and building the country.

The ideology and eternal values ​​of the Truc Lam Buddhist ancestral land at Con Son Pagoda and the cultural celebrity Nguyen Trai have made important contributions, meeting the criteria for proof and argument in the nomination dossier for the Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son-Kiep Bac Monuments and Landscape Complex to become a world heritage site that UNESCO is evaluating.
