(NADS) - On the morning of October 18, at the National Convention Center (Hanoi), the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front took place. Politburo member, Party Central Committee Secretary, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Do Van Chien and the Congress Presidium chaired the closing session.

Attending the closing session were Mr. Huynh Dam, former member of the Party Central Committee, former Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee; Mr. Le Thanh Long, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quang Phuong, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Mr. Nguyen Quang Duong, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Organization Committee; Mr. Pham Tat Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Committee; Mr. Vo Van Dung, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee.

After 3 working days, with the spirit of "Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Creativity - Development", the Congress has completed the entire program, goals and requirements set out. The Congress received 110 reports contributing comments on the content of the Political Report. Of these, there were 64 reports from provinces and centrally-run cities; 32 reports from member organizations of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; 14 reports from typical individuals representing the people and the Vietnamese community abroad. The content of the prepared reports was of high quality; many comments and assessments were studied and summarized from practice, the recommendations and proposals were specific, convincing, and in line with the requirements of innovation in the content and methods of operation of the Front.

Mr. Le Thanh Long, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister informed about the situation and tasks of socio-economic development of the country, and the coordination between the Government and the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.

There were 74 opinions expressed at the Congress, including: 12 opinions expressed directly at the Hall; 41 opinions expressed directly and 21 opinions expressed in writing at 5 Discussion Centers. During the discussion sessions, Congress delegates promoted the spirit of democracy, high responsibility, frankness, objectivity, many opinions expressed wholeheartedly, contributing to perfecting the contents of the Congress.

The Congress approved the number of members: 405 members of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the 10th term, 2024 - 2029, the Presidium of 72 members, the Standing Committee of 6 members; and 8 non-professional Vice Chairmen.

At the Congress, 397 members were elected to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front. At the first conference of the 10th Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, 67 members were elected to the Presidium, 4 members were elected to the Standing Committee, and 7 members were elected to the non-professional Vice President position.
