Beijing ready to cooperate with Switzerland on community of common destiny

On February 6 in Beijing, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng met with Swiss Federal Councilor and Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis.

Mr. Han Zheng said that under the strategic guidance of the leaders of the two countries, China and Switzerland have established an innovative strategic partnership, which is a good model of friendly cooperation between countries with different social systems and scales at different stages of development.

Noting that next year will mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the Chinese Vice President stressed that the two sides should carry forward the fine tradition of friendship and cooperation, respect each other, consolidate mutually beneficial cooperation, and promote cultural and people-to-people exchanges.

The Chinese representative stated that the country is willing to cooperate with Switzerland to build a community with a common destiny for mankind and make the global governance system more fair and equal.

For his part, Foreign Minister Cassis stated that Bern always attaches importance to developing relations with Beijing and is ready to actively carry out exchanges at all levels, enhance practical cooperation in many fields, and bring bilateral relations to new heights.
