Unique photos of a "parallel world" identical to the one Earth inhabits

(NLDO) - NASA calls the super object NGC 6744 the "big brother" of the galaxy containing Earth.

According to Live Science, using the Dark Energy Camera (DECam) tool on the 4-meter Víctor M. Blanco Telescope at the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory of the US National Science Foundation, scientists have captured detailed images of a galaxy identical to the galaxy containing Earth.

It is a magical spiral galaxy called NGC 6744.

With spiral arms that span 175,000 light-years, NGC 6744 is larger than our own Milky Way galaxy, which is about 100,000 light-years across.

However, according to NASA, the structures of this galaxy resemble the world Earth is living in almost perfectly. So they call it the "big brother" of the Milky Way.

Because of this, it has become a treasure for astronomers.

Because it will be difficult for us to have a favorable angle to fully observe the Milky Way when our planet is located inside it.

We can't even take pictures of our own "home" because there's no way to send a spacecraft out of the Milky Way.

Finding NGC 6744 is like finding a parallel world. Astronomers can look at this distant galaxy from a vantage point, learning about it to learn more about how our own galaxy works.

In the newly released image, NGC 6744 has a bright core and dust lanes that fuel star formation.

To the left of NGC 6744 is a faint arm not seen in most images of the galaxy, while to the lower right, at the end of a spiral arm, is an image of a faint companion galaxy known as NGC 6744A.

NGC 6744 is also a prototype for the most common type of galaxy in the universe - the spiral galaxy, the same type as the Milky Way - so it could be a good subject for many studies on the history and operation of the universe.
