The activity was organized in response to the call for support to help the poor during the traditional Tet holiday of Ham Tan District People's Committee. The gifts were presented to households by representatives of AES Vietnam - the investor of the Son My 2 LNG power plant project, PV Gas - AES Vietnam's joint venture partner in the Son My LNG port warehouse project, Ham Tan Women's Union and local authorities.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Tran Thi Dinh Huong, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Ham Tan district said, "On behalf of the local government and households, I would like to thank the leaders of AES Vietnam and PV Gas for their attention and meaningful Tet gifts to disadvantaged households in 3 communes: Son My, Tan Thang and Thang Hai, Ham Tan district. The gifts help bring a warm and happy Tet to each home and demonstrate the spirit of helping each other and leaving no one behind."
