HCMC: 1,400 candidates passed the additional admission to public grade 10

On the morning of August 7, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City, Le Hoai Nam, said that at the end of the additional admission period for public grade 10 for the 2024-2025 school year, the whole city had 1,400 additional candidates admitted out of a total of 2,203 additional admission targets, reaching a rate of 63.54%.

Through the results of additional enrollment for public grade 10 in the 2024-2025 school year, a representative of the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City said that the additional enrollment helps ensure the rights of students who fail all 3 wishes due to many reasons such as setting inappropriate wishes, choosing the wrong wish, but with high exam scores, they can continue studying at public schools in the city.

In particular, in the 2024-2025 school year, the Department of Education and Training of Ho Chi Minh City has applied a regional priority mechanism for students studying at secondary schools in suburban districts such as Cu Chi, Nha Be, Can Gio, Hoc Mon, Binh Chanh and Thu Duc City.

Specifically, candidates who submit additional admission applications to high schools in the same area as this middle school will be considered based on the standard score of their first choice.

The application of regional priority has brought some advantages to candidates and high schools such as ensuring the rights of candidates in remote areas with many difficulties to continue studying at public high schools; helping high schools in remote areas to enroll enough students compared to the assigned quota.
