“Civilized Saturday - Civilized Actions

On the morning of August 10, at Binh Duong New City Central Park (Hoa Phu Ward, Thu Dau Mot City), the Youth Union of Binh Duong Provincial Agencies and the Youth Union of Binh Duong Provincial Enterprises coordinated with related units to organize a fundraising race with the theme "Running for Beloved Juniors" in 2024.

This is a meaningful program to welcome the 8th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union of Binh Duong province, term 2024 - 2029, responding to the implementation of "Civilized Saturday" and to continue to innovate the form of implementing the Youth Union's Foster Children volunteer program implemented by 2 Youth Unions from 2022.

The program attracted the participation of more than 420 athletes from more than 120 units including union members, youth of 2 Youth Unions, cadres, civil servants, employees, workers, children of agencies, units, enterprises, banks, schools, hospitals in and outside the province.

The tournament is divided into 3 categories: men, women and children. Each athlete needs to complete a 3km running distance on the route around the lake of Binh Duong New City Central Park.

The highlight of the program is that each athlete who registers to participate voluntarily contributes a minimum of 100,000 VND. 100% of this amount will be used to implement the Youth Union's Foster Children charity program (giving gifts, scholarships, buying health insurance for the new school year,... to team members and disadvantaged students with good academic achievements in the province).

At the program, the representative of the Organizing Committee publicly announced the amount of money contributed as 60 million VND. The Organizing Committee allocated 5 million VND to give 10 scholarships (each worth 500 thousand VND) to 10 disadvantaged students in Luong Hoa commune, Giong Trom district, Ben Tre province on August 3.

In particular, at the program, 10 students who are children of young workers working at companies in VSIP II Industrial Park received gifts and scholarships (each worth 2.3 million VND, including 1 million VND from the contribution of participating athletes and gifts worth 1.3 million VND including new textbooks, white notebooks, school bags, and school supplies supported by the Youth Union of the Industrial Investment and Development Corporation - JSC).

In addition, within the framework of the program, the Organizing Committee also has many volunteer booths responding to Civilized Saturday such as "Exchange books for gifts" and "Nurturing green seeds", these are meaningful activities to donate books to support children in difficult circumstances, contributing to spreading to young people and society the message "Live green, live beautifully, live responsibly with the environment and community".

Comrade Bien Tuan Vu - Secretary of the Youth Union of Binh Duong Province's agencies shared: "Continuing the spirit of constantly spreading meaningful activities and bringing good values to the community, the program has continued to create a source of funding to contribute to the good implementation of social security work and the development of Binh Duong province. Accordingly, all the money contributed from the tournament registration fee and support from athletes and participating units will be used to carry out social security work, taking care of children in difficult circumstances, thereby bringing new hopes and futures to individuals and society".

It is known that the program has the participation of many famous "runners" from running clubs in Binh Duong province and neighboring provinces and cities. There are a total of 30 prizes for both men, women and children, including medals and cash.
