Not disappointing the expectations of fans, female boxer Panipak Wongpattanakit excellently brought home a valuable gold medal for the Thai sports delegation at the 2024 Paris Olympics. In the final match of the taekwondo under 49 kg weight class against Guo Qing (China) taking place in the early morning of August 8, the Thai female boxer won a dramatic victory with a final score of 2-1 (6-3, 2-3, 6-2).
The match with Guo Qing was Panipak Wongpattanakit's most intense and difficult match in her journey to defend her Olympic gold medal. Before the final match, the Thai female boxer had defeated all opponents with a score of 2-0. Notably, at the 19th ASIAD (Hangzhou, China), Panipak also defeated Guo Qing to win the gold medal with a score of 2-1.

Panipak Wongpattanakit is the second Southeast Asian athlete to win a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, after Carlos Yulo (Philippines, gymnastics).
At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics (taking place in 2021), Panipak Wongpattanakit also stepped onto the highest podium in the women's taekwondo under 49 kg category. The boxer nicknamed "tennis" made history in Thai sports when he currently owns 3 medals in the Olympic arena, having previously won a bronze medal at the Rio Olympics (2016).
More notably, Panipak Wongpattanakit also won a gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics on her birthday (August 8). This is also the milestone that closes the illustrious career of the female boxer born in 1997, when she announced that she would retire after attending the Olympics in France.
