Approval of patent application for Deo Ca tunnel construction method

The National Office of Intellectual Property has just issued Decision No. 86294/QD-SHTT approving application 2-2024-00005 submitted on January 3, 2024 by Deo Ca Group as valid in form with the invention name being a method of constructing road tunnels by increasing the access space combined with spraying reinforcement immediately after digging.

The application will be published in the Industrial Property Gazette and examined for content to assess the possibility of granting a protection certificate. Based on the approval of the application form, Deo Ca Group has temporary rights to the invention according to the provisions of the Law on Intellectual Property.

According to the attached description of the utility solution patent registration of Deo Ca Group, the registered solution refers to the method of constructing road tunnels by increasing the space during tunnel construction, dividing the tunnel into many small tunnels combined with inclined mirror excavation and spraying reinforcement immediately after excavation.

The purpose is to shorten construction time, save costs and increase the load-bearing safety of the construction structure, overcoming the design with a shape that is not optimal in terms of the load-bearing capacity of the tunnel.

In fact, this solution has been researched and applied by Deo Ca Group during the tunnel construction process in a number of road tunnel projects such as Tunnel No. 2 - Package XL2, Tunnel No. 1 - Package XL1 of the North - South Expressway project, Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon section, and has brought about remarkable results.

The contractor completed the tunnel construction 3-4 months ahead of schedule, meeting requirements on structural safety, construction safety, project quality and improving production and business efficiency.

According to Mr. Bui Hong Dang, Director of the Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon Tunnel Project Command Board, in reality, the traditional tunneling method only has a single space for a construction site.

For the method researched by Deo Ca, there will be at least 2 spaces for each tip, helping to speed up construction progress and reduce costs of machinery and personnel.
