China U19 "flattered" after winning the international U19 tournament

At the 2024 U19 International Championship that just ended in Weinan City (China), U19 China was the team that stepped up to the top of the podium with 7 points after 3 matches. In the final match of the tournament, U19 China defeated U19 Korea 2-0 thanks to a double from Liu Chengyu.

China U19 won the championship with an unbeaten record, without conceding a goal. They beat Vietnam U19 1-0, drew Uzbekistan U19 0-0 and beat Korea U19 2-0.

The Chinese press has been full of praise for coach Djurdjevic and his team as this is the first time in many years that a Chinese men's football team has won a championship, even though it was only a friendly tournament title.

Many Chinese news sites also confirmed that this victory will be the motivation for the Chinese national team to enter the decisive match in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against the Korean team on the evening of June 11. A draw will help the Chinese team win a ticket to the third qualifying round.
