Blue sea paradise

HeritageHeritage31/05/2024

Located in the southeast of Phu Quoc, Nam Du archipelago consists of about 21 large and small islands. Visitors have to take a boat for about 2 hours from Rach Gia port to reach this "paradise".
Hon Lon (also known as Hon Cu Tron) is the largest island in Nam Du. It is famous for Men beach where the sea water is as clear as jade. Nestled in the bay, Men beach seems to be protected from big storms and retains the natural beauty of creation. You can enjoy soaking in the cool water, walking under the coconut trees or enjoying sweet coconut water, relaxing and feeling the time slowly pass.
If you are an adventurer, you can rent a motorbike to freely explore around the island. A place that cannot be missed is Nam Du lighthouse. Located on a hill about 300m above sea level, this is the tallest lighthouse in Vietnam, diligently guiding seafarers. Climbing up to the observation deck, you will be able to see and capture the beauty of the "pearl of Nam Du". From Hon Lon, visitors can also rent a boat to visit the surrounding small islands such as Hon Dau, Hon Ngang or Bai Mau.
Nam Du's rich seafood resources are also what attracts tourists to visit. This place is most famous for grilled blue bone fish (also known as pincer fish). This is a type of catfish with a sharp beak like a pair of tongs. Their skin and bones are blue, so they are called blue bone fish. When preparing, people often wrap the fish in banana leaves and grill it on a charcoal stove. The fragrant grilled fish is rolled with rice paper and vegetables, dipped in fish sauce, garlic and chili, an irresistible delicacy.
What could be more wonderful than leaving the hustle and bustle of the city to immerse yourself in the blue of the ocean, listen to the murmuring waves and enjoy relaxing moments in Nam Du.
