Attending the welcoming ceremony were leaders of Naval Region 4, leaders of Coast Guard Region 3, representatives of the Khanh Hoa Provincial Department of Foreign Affairs and a number of Vietnamese authorities. On the US side, there were the US Ambassador, US Defense Attaché and a number of officials from the US Embassy in Vietnam.
The visit is part of the US Navy’s program of activities, contributing to maintaining the friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership for peace, cooperation and sustainable development between Vietnam and the United States. During their stay in the locality, the crew will interact, participate in cultural activities, visit social protection centers and Khanh Hoa University.

The US Coast Guard cutter Waesche has a large range and can operate continuously for many days at sea. It is also equipped with many weapons.
