Portugal only need to beat Slovakia to secure qualification for EURO 2024 with three matches to spare. With their good form since the beginning of 2023, the task of winning three points is within reach of coach Roberto Martinez and his team.

Slovakia’s biggest achievement in this match was that they scored 2 goals. This was the first match that Portugal conceded under coach Martinez. However, the 2 goals coming in the second half were not enough for the visitors to get a point.

Portugal scored early with Goncalo Ramos scoring in the 18th minute after an assist from Bruno Fernandes. About 10 minutes later, Cristiano Ronaldo converted a penalty to double the lead.
