(PLVN) - Today, the State Bank reduced the gold selling price for 4 commercial banks and SJC Company to 78 million VND/tael.

According to the State Bank, based on the plan to sell SJC gold bars directly to 4 state-owned commercial banks and Saigon Jewelry Company Limited (SJC) approved by the Governor of the State Bank, the direct selling price of gold bars today by the State Bank is 78 million VND/tael.

Thus, compared to the most recent announcement, the State Bank's gold selling price has decreased by 800,000 VND per tael.

In the market, at 2:29 a.m. today, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) listed the price of gold bars at 77.00 - 79.00 million VND/tael, down 1.3 million in the buying price and 800 thousand VND in the selling price compared to yesterday's trading session. The difference between buying and selling prices is 2 million VND.

At 4 state-owned commercial banks (Agribank, BIDV, VietinBank, Vietcombank), the selling price of SJC gold applied for today's session is 79 million VND/tael, 1 million VND higher than the direct selling price from the State Bank.

Large enterprises such as Bao Tin Minh Chau, Phu Quy, PNJ, DOJI… also adjusted gold prices to 79 million VND/tael.

Previously, on June 3, the State Bank started selling gold directly to 4 state-owned commercial banks and SJC Company.

In the first phase, the gold selling price was adjusted continuously. After that, the State Bank's gold selling price remained stable at VND75.98 million/tael for about a month and a half, before increasing sharply by more than VND3 million/tael, reaching VND79 million/tael on July 18.

After that price increase, the State Bank reduced the gold selling price twice on July 23 and July 30, each time by VND500,000/tael, equivalent to the gold price after the reduction being VND78.5 million/tael and VND78 million/tael, respectively.

During the latest gold price adjustment on August 1, the price of gold bars sold by the State Bank was 78.8 million VND/tael.

According to the State Bank's Standing Deputy Governor Dao Minh Tu, in managing gold trading activities, with the Government's attention and direction, the State Bank's synchronous solutions and the coordination of relevant ministries and branches, the difference between the domestic SJC gold bar price and the converted world gold price has decreased significantly.

The selling price of SJC gold bars in the domestic market has decreased sharply. The initial basic goal of handling and controlling the difference in the price of SJC gold bars compared to the world gold price within a suitable range has been achieved.

In the coming time, the State Bank will continue to implement a roadmap to narrow and control the difference between the domestic selling price of SJC gold bars and the world price at an appropriate level.
