
Implementing the plan for market inspection and control, ensuring food safety during the Mid-Autumn Festival in Ba Dinh District (Hanoi). On August 6 and 7, the Interdisciplinary Inspection Team of Steering Committee 389 of Ba Dinh District, led by Market Management Team No. 3 (Hanoi Market Management Department), conducted consecutive inspections of 2 business establishments in the district, discovering hundreds of confectionery products with signs of being smuggled goods.
Accordingly, on August 7, the interdisciplinary inspection team inspected the grocery business establishment at 4 Dang Dung, Truc Bach (Ba Dinh, Hanoi).
At the time of inspection, the Inspection Team discovered that the facility was selling 400 moon cakes, 50gr/piece, produced abroad, without invoices or documents proving origin, and of unknown quality.
Previously, on August 6, the interdisciplinary inspection team inspected the grocery business establishment at 115 Tan Ap, Phuc Xa (Ba Dinh, Hanoi).
At the time of inspection, the Inspection Team discovered that the facility was trading in 321 types of cakes and candies (including 175 types of baked goods). All of these goods were manufactured abroad, without invoices or documents proving their origin, and of unknown quality.
The goods with signs of violations in both cases above have been temporarily detained by the Inspection Team for handling according to regulations.


According to the plan of the Hanoi People's Committee, from August 5 to September 20, 2024, relevant departments, branches and People's Committees at district and commune levels will strengthen propaganda andeducation to raise awareness and practice for producers, traders and food consumers during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
For food production and trading establishments, strictly implement regulations on hygiene conditions of establishments, equipment and tools, knowledge and practices of people directly involved in food production and processing; regulations on the origin of food ingredients, regulations on the use of additives, flavorings, food packaging, product labeling, registration of product declarations/self-declaration of products, preservation of food products; hygiene conditions of places where products are sold, import of food products, product declarations; absolutely do not sell expired cakes, moldy cakes, cakes that do not ensure food safety.
In addition, promote the rights and obligations of consumers in food use; provide guidance on selecting, processing, preserving and using safe food; do not use food additives not listed, for the wrong subjects, and in the wrong dosage according to regulations.
Notably, during this time, departments, branches and sectors, based on the management situation, proactively organize specialized or interdisciplinary inspection and examination teams to inspect production, processing, trading and import establishments of food items widely used during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
