Dinh Thi Festival aims to commemorate the merits of our ancestors who built villages, established villages, and preserved and promoted the value of cultural heritage, contributing to educating the traditions of the homeland and the country, awareness of protecting the cultural heritage of the nation; building cultural life in the ethnic communities in the western region of Thanh Hoa.
Thi Temple was built in the 16th century in the old Set village, now Trung Thanh village, Yen Cat town, Nhu Xuan district. According to historical records, Mr. Le Phuc Thanh was a person who had the merit of following the Lam Son army in the early years of the resistance war (1416-1427). After the victory of the resistance war, he was granted land in Set village and became an official to manage this land.
In the 5th year of Quang Thuan (1464) under King Le Thanh Tong, Mr. Le Phuc Thanh divided the land for his children (he had 4 children) to govern the four lands of four villages. Under the Le Dynasty, all were awarded the title of mandarin, all had temples built and received royal decrees.
Thi Temple is a place to worship people who contributed to Lam Son's uprising.
In 1995, Dinh Thi was recognized as a provincial-level historical and cultural relic by the Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee. By 2024, Dinh Thi Festival was recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VH-TT-DL).
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dau Thanh Tung, Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, emphasized that the inclusion of Dinh Thi Festival in the list of national intangible cultural heritage is a tribute to a cultural heritage with strong vitality; honoring the silent and persistent efforts of the community and generations of artisans in preserving, maintaining and promoting the value of the heritage; promoting the responsibility of passing on the heritage between generations and practicing the heritage in today's life.
Mr. Dau Thanh Tung, Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee, spoke at the opening ceremony of Dinh Thi festival.
This is also an opportunity for the people of Nhu Xuan district to express their gratitude to their ancestors who, with their creative talent and efforts, have preserved this precious asset, so that today it is honored and tomorrow it will continue to shine in the cultural flow of the nation.
Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Dau Thanh Tung hopes that Nhu Xuan needs to determine that preserving, conserving and developing Dinh Thi Festival is not only the responsibility of artisans and people in the heritage area, but also the responsibility of the ethnic communities in Nhu Xuan district.
