Indian destroyer visits Ho Chi Minh City

On the morning of September 27, the Indian destroyer INS Rana, captained by Colonel Atul Deswal and with about 400 soldiers, docked at Saigon port, beginning a 4-day visit to Ho Chi Minh City.

According to the plan, the ship’s officers and crew will participate in cultural, sports and defense exchange activities with the Vietnamese navy. In addition, the INS Rana will join the Vietnamese navy in joint formation exercises at sea.

Mr. Deswal emphasized that the visit of INS Rana aims to enhance maritime cooperation between the two navies, strengthen friendship between the two countries, as well as contribute to ensuring security and stability in the region.

INS Rana was commissioned in 1982, has a length of 146.5 m, a width of 15.8 m and a displacement of more than 4,000 tons. The weapon system on the ship includes S-125M air defense missiles, SS-N-2D Styx AShM anti-ship missiles, 76.2 mm guns...
