The Vietnam General Confederation of Labor informed that, according to a quick report from 74/82 localities and units with trade union activities, up to now, nearly 7.5 million union members and workers have enjoyed the care of trade union activities during the Tet holiday, with a total budget of more than 4,241 billion VND. Of which, the socialized source is nearly 1,800 billion VND (accounting for 42.44%).

Specifically, regarding visiting and support activities, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor said that during the 2024 Tet holiday, nearly 7.2 million union members and workers were visited, given gifts, and supported by trade unions at all levels with a total amount of more than 4,006 billion VND (of which more than 89% were gifts and cash support, the rest were donated to union shelter houses and other forms).

This year, trade unions at all levels organized a total of 14,664 "Tet Sum Vay - Xuan Chia Chia" programs, attracting over 3 million participants, of which more than 1.8 million workers received gifts, with a total amount of nearly 1,022 billion VND.

The program "Tet Sum Vay - Spring Sharing" was organized at the grassroots trade unions (accounting for more than 88%) with many diverse forms such as gift giving, displaying fruit trays, banh chung wrapping contests, lucky draws, organizing folk games, legal advice, shopping at zero-dong booths, or selling at preferential prices, cultural and artistic activities... brought a joyful and warm atmosphere to workers (especially those who are far from home, in difficult circumstances, have lost their jobs, or have reduced their work...).

“Many places also organize scholarships for workers’ children, support gifts to accompany them to school, wish a happy new year to workers’ families with parents over 70 years old; visit and wish a happy new year to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, people with revolutionary contributions, single mothers, give tickets to spring tours, go to the flower market for Tet...”, the trade union reported.
