Among the victims were a 3-year-old girl and a 4-year-old boy with their pet dog, and a couple who left behind three young children.

The plane crashed while en route from Paraná state to São Paulo state. The plane lost altitude in just one minute, killing all on board, but the cause of the accident is still unknown.

Shocking images circulating on social media showed the plane crashing and its charred fuselage on the ground. São Paulo fire department spokesman Maycon Cristo said rescuers were working to recover and identify bodies, but were having difficulty.

The São Paulo state government has called on the victims' families to provide medical documents such as X-ray results, medical and dental tests to aid in the identification process.

Details about the passengers on the flight are also emerging. Among them was a 3-year-old girl and her father, according to a statement from the Santa Catarina state prosecutor's office, where the father works.

The regional airline Voepass, which operated the flight, said all the passengers had Brazilian identification documents, including four dual nationals: three Venezuelans and one Portuguese. The three Venezuelans included a woman, her mother and her 4-year-old son.
