On December 3, Mr. Ha Sy Dong, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province, said that the province has planned to start the Quang Tri Industrial Park project (VSIP Quang Tri) in Hai Lang district on December 15.

Quang Tri Industrial Park Project was approved by the Prime Minister under Decision No. 418/QD-TTg dated March 23, 2021 with a total investment of VND 2,074 billion. Of which, phase 1 has a scale of 97.4 hectares - total investment of VND 504.39 billion.

The project is implemented by the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park Joint Stock Company (VSIP JV), Amata Bien Hoa Urban Joint Stock Company (under Amata Group of Thailand) and Sumitomo Group of Japan, located in Dien Sanh town, Hai Truong commune and Hai Lam commune (Hai Lang district, Quang Tri province).

The Vietnamese Government expects this project to contribute to promoting the economic and social development of Quang Tri province, creating an economic center along the east-west economic corridor connecting Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Myanmar.

Up to now, the project has completed procedures for investment certification, industrial park establishment, zoning planning, traffic connection procedures, environmental impact assessment report, forest use conversion dossier, payment for replacement forest planting, detailed planning 1/500, land lease, etc.
