Photo and documentary exhibition "80 years of the heroic song of Independence" ; awarding and opening the Exhibition of the "2025 News and Art Photography" Contest organized by Hai Phong from August 19 to September 5 at the Xu Dong Cultural Center; awarding and opening the Exhibition of the "2025 News and Art Photography" Contest .

This is one of the meaningful activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) in the city. At the same time, it celebrates the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Culture and Information Sector (August 28, 1945 - August 28, 2025).

The exhibition “80 years of the heroic song of Independence” displays more than 100 historical documentary photos, introducing an overview of the journey from the founding of the Party, the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam to the struggle for independence, building and defending the Fatherland. The works clearly demonstrate the will and determination of the nation throughout the revolutionary journey, while also depicting the country's outstanding milestones in the period of innovation, integration and development.

The exhibition also introduces the outstanding achievements of the country and Hai Phong city over the past 80 years in many fields: economy, society, national defense - security, health, education... The photo collection was collected and compiled by the Center for Culture, Cinema and Exhibition from the sources of the city's Electronic Information Portal, press agencies, Photography Club, Hai Phong Museum, Military Zone 3 Museum and many other valuable sources.

The exhibition also displays 90 works of news and art photography by authors participating in the 2025 News and Art Photography Competition organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the Literature and Arts Association. These are works of high artistic quality and topicality. Of these, the Organizing Committee of the competition selected 11 outstanding works to award at the opening ceremony of the Exhibition, including 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 5 consolation prizes.
