On June 16, information from the Supreme People's Procuracy, the Central Propaganda Department organized a conference of Central Reporters for June 2023.

The conference was held in a combination of in-person and online formats at three locations of the Central Propaganda Department in Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City, connecting to 3,369 locations nationwide, with more than 148,000 delegates attending.

At the conference, delegates heard Major General Dang Hong Duc, Chief of Office of the Ministry of Public Security, briefly inform about the incident causing disorder in Dak Lak.

Accordingly, at around 0:35 a.m. on June 11, in Cu Kuin district, Dak Lak province, two groups of armed individuals broke into and attacked the headquarters of Ea Ktur and Ea Tieu communes.

That very night, the Ministry of Public Security quickly increased its professional forces, deployed synchronous measures to surround and block off relevant areas, protect government headquarters, ensure security and safety for people and arrest the suspects. At the same time, it urgently implemented policies and regimes, promptly visited and encouraged the families of soldiers who died or were injured; visited and encouraged the families of officers and people who were victims.

More information about the conference, the Central Reporter, Ministry of Public Security quoted Major General Dang Hong Duc as saying that the incident in which 2 groups of people used guns to attack killed 9 people and injured 2 people. Among them, 4 commune police officers, 2 commune People's Committee officers and 3 residents died; 2 commune police officers were injured.

After 2 days of close coordination with the authorities and with the active support of the people, the police force arrested about 50 subjects, removed all the ringleaders and masterminds in the incident; seized many military weapons, homemade guns, knives, explosives, etc.

The subjects all reside in Dak Lak province, most of them are young people, have an illusionary and extremist lifestyle, and are incited and provoked by the leaders through cyberspace. This group confessed that the purpose of attacking the commune People's Committee headquarters was to infiltrate the offices of the commune militia and police to steal weapons, to create a buzz, and to have the illusion that they would be able to go abroad.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department Phan Xuan Thuy asked delegates to closely follow the information presented by Major General Dang Hong Duc; Propaganda Departments of Provincial Party Committees, City Party Committees, Party Committees directly under the Central Committee, reporters at all levels and grassroots propagandists to focus on widely disseminating information at the conference to promptly and quickly stabilize the ideological situation among cadres, party members and people of all walks of life; emphasizing the role of the masses in providing information for functional forces to effectively track down the subjects.

Along with that is propaganda to help people understand, promote the people's hearts, actively coordinate with functional forces in the process of performing tasks, contribute to ensuring security and social order, and at the same time expose the sabotage tricks of hostile forces and reactionary elements.
