Speaking at the opening ceremony, Chairman of Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan said that Bac Ninh - Kinh Bac is a land rich in historical traditions, with a long-standing, rich and unique culture and civilization, the cradle of the ancient Vietnamese people; is the place to worship the Vietnamese ancestor - Kinh Duong Vuong; has the ancient citadel of Luy Lau, where the first urban residents in Vietnam were formed, the oldest cultural and religious center in our country; the place where Buddhism was first spread to Vietnam; has the earliest school to teach Chinese characters and culture in our country; the birthplace of the Ly Dynasty - the dynasty that opened and built the Dai Viet civilization; the place with the most great scholars in the country, especially 16/46 Trạng Nguyên (accounting for 1/3 of the whole country).

Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan emphasized: “That glorious history and long-standing cultural tradition are the great endogenous resources, the precious spiritual foundation for Bac Ninh today to stand firm on the journey of rapid, comprehensive and sustainable development. In particular, Tu Son is a special land in the process of cultural and historical development of the nation”.

Tu Son City is the gateway to Bac Ninh province and the second center of economy, culture, education, and services of the province; playing an important role in promoting the socio-economic development of the region. Tu Son is an important location connecting Bac Ninh province with the Hanoi capital region, located in the Northern key economic region, with a favorable investment and business environment.

In addition, Tu Son city is also an urban area located on a major economic corridor through important traffic routes, connecting provinces, urban areas, major economic development centers of the country with many modern, synchronous industrial parks. Reviewing history, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ninh province stated that Ly Thai To (real name Cong Uan) was born in the year of Giap Tuat 974 at Co Phap pagoda (also known as Ung Tam pagoda) in Dinh Bang ward, Tu Son city today.

From a young age, Ly Cong Uan showed his intelligence, handsomeness, generosity and extraordinary health. At the age of 20, he became an official of the Tien Le Dynasty, holding the position of Commander of the Left Royal Guard. After King Le Long Dinh passed away, the court unanimously honored Ly Cong Uan and established him as the Emperor. On the 15th day of the 3rd lunar month of the year Canh Tuat 1010, at noon, Ly Cong Uan officially held a ceremony to be crowned Emperor, and established the reign name Thuan Thien.

The coronation of Ly Thai To and subsequent decree to move the capital from Hoa Lu to Dai La citadel, naming the new capital Thang Long, not only had strategic geopolitical significance, but also demonstrated the far-sighted vision and outstanding character of a wise king.

Average income per capita is estimated at 73 million VND, up 14.8%. The economic structure has shifted in a positive direction. State budget revenue reaches more than 33 trillion VND, up 13.9% compared to 2023; of which domestic revenue reaches more than 24 trillion VND, up 10%. Total import-export turnover reaches 75.9 billion USD, up 1%.

In the process of preserving cultural heritage, Bac Ninh is considered a locality that pays much attention to protecting and promoting heritage values, investing funds in research, restoration and renovation; the team of artisans, the "living human treasures" of the locality, are cared for and encouraged.
