Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Tran Van Lau has just signed an official dispatch to the Ministry of Construction reporting the list of registered works and projects in the city that are eligible to start construction and inaugurate to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025).
Accordingly, after reviewing and synthesizing reports from units, Can Tho City People's Committee registered 2 projects eligible for commencement, including: Housing project in the trade union facility area in An Nghiep Industrial Park and O Mon IV Thermal Power Plant Project. Both projects registered to commence construction on August 19, 2025 in the form of online television with the Government.

In which, the housing project in the trade union facility area in An Nghiep Industrial Park is invested by Aranya Vietnam Joint Stock Company, located in Soc Trang ward; with a construction scale of 6 social housing buildings (3 buildings 9 floors high, 2 buildings 12 floors high, 1 building 15 floors high) with about 1,050 apartments and 1 commercial building no higher than 15 floors. The total investment is more than 874 billion VND.
The O Mon IV Thermal Power Plant Project is invested by the Vietnam National Energy and Industry Group, located in Phuoc Thoi Ward. The project has an investment scale of: Installed capacity of 1,050 MW ± 10%; connected to the national power system at 500 kV voltage level; combined cycle gas turbine technology; using gas fuel from Block B gas field; and shared items between the O Mon III Thermal Power Plant Project and the O Mon IV Thermal Power Plant Project within the investment scope of the O Mon IV Thermal Power Plant Project. The project has a total investment of more than VND 27,668 billion.
