Thus, after nearly 1.5 years of vacancy, the position of Executive Director of AmCham Vietnam Ho Chi Minh City has found new personnel.

Mr. Travis Mitchell, the new executive director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam - Ho Chi Minh City, has extensive experience in international trade and investment through a long period of working in Southeast Asia.

Prior to joining AmCham Ho Chi Minh City, he served as Executive Director of the American Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia, where he connected the Royal Government of Cambodia with the private sector, creating growth and investment opportunities and fostering relationships between members of the American and Cambodian business communities.

He also served as an advisor to Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, and has a background in research, advocacy, public health and community activism.

During his 11 years working in the Southeast Asian market supporting the American business community, Mr. Travis was selected by the Cambodia Leadership Review as one of Cambodia's top 50 international voices in 2024.

Commenting on his new appointment, Travis Mitchell said: “My previous role at AmCham Cambodia and my experience with American trade associations in the Asia-Pacific region allows me to step into this position with a unique perspective on running an association.

I look forward to working closely with the US business community, the Vietnamese Government, the US Consulate General, AmCham Hanoi and other partners to take advantage of the great opportunities in Vietnam."
