Following the success of 7 seasons, Mathnasium Championship has had many changes and improvements in the award structure, competition format, Organizing Committee, Judges and contestants.
This year in particular, receiving the trust of the Ho Chi Minh City Youth Council, the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Science and Technology Development for Youth, the Mathnasium Vietnam system was selected as the co-organizer and professional sponsor for the competition called "Math Thinking Talent - Math Championship 2023", the competition was officially launched on August 22, 2023.
On the morning of November 5, the competition called "Math Championship 2023" in the Northern region opened in Hanoi.
“Math Championship 2023” is a nationwide Math Championship for all students (aged 6-11) in primary and secondary schools. With more than 45,000 contestants from 600 schools nationwide participating in the qualifying round, Math Championship has become a reliable playground and is loved by many parents and students.
With the desire to convey the message and encourage the spirit of the contestants that each of them coming to the competition is a talented and courageous person, the Math Championship 2023 helped them overcome their shyness and shyness to confidently participate in a playground that is both rewarding and intellectually challenging.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hoang Diem - General Director of Mathnasium Vietnam system said that through the competitions, children will be able to improve themselves and in the future, they will be people who help the country.
Representative of the Organizing Committee, Professional Director of Mathnasium Vietnam - Mr. Pham Chau Lich said, Math thinking is a teaching method that uses Math as a tool to train children's thinking and problem solving skills. In addition, Math thinking also combines factors such as memorization, association, creativity... to help children form the habit of thinking independently, exploring and learning by themselves to make learning more interesting and effective.
Officially starting from August 22, 2023, the competition will take place in 3 rounds including: Online Preliminary Round, Semi-final Round and Final Round, award ceremony.
The contestants are team members and children who compete individually, divided into 6 groups, including students in grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.
The Online Preliminary Round takes place from September 18, 2023 to October 1, 2023. After the Online Preliminary Round, the Organizing Committee will select the 500 contestants with the highest results in each group to enter the Semi-finals.
The Semi-finals will take place on October 21 and 22, 2023. In the semi-finals, candidates will compete in person at testing locations arranged by the Organizing Committee. After the semi-finals, the Organizing Committee will select the 50 candidates with the highest results in each group to enter the Final round.
The Final Round and Award Ceremony are divided into 2 regions North and South. In this round, contestants will compete in a direct format.
Participating in the Final round, students will have to compete in the following content: Questions by topic: Counting equidistantly, rules, geometry, counting shapes; Questions on quick calculation, mental calculation, operations, numerical thinking; Logical questions on problem solving.
In the final round, the 3 best contestants corresponding to the First, Second, and Third Prizes of each level will be awarded (Total of 36 prizes).
The prize structure of each Competition Board includes: 1 First Prize: 3 million VND in cash, Mathnasium Thinking Course Scholarship, Gifts in kind and Certificates of Merit from the program (total value of 30,000,000 VND); 1 Second Prize: 2 million VND in cash, Mathnasium Thinking Course Scholarship, Gifts in kind and Certificates of Merit from the program (total value of 20,000,000 VND); 1 Third Prize: 1 million VND in cash, Mathnasium Thinking Course Scholarship, Gifts in kind and Certificates of Merit from the program (total value of 15,000,000 VND); Encouragement Prize: For all children participating in the final round: Gifts in kind and Certificates of the program.
On November 5, 2023, in Hanoi, the Northern Regional Finals of the 8th season of Math Championship took place.
Candidates will perform live recorded answers, allowing parents to continuously monitor their children's test-taking process.
Candidates write their answers on the board, have 30 seconds to answer the questions and are scored on the spot.
After 2 hours of exciting and dramatic competition, 174 contestants participating in the final round of the "Math Championship 2023" competition in the Northern region completed their competition.
It is known that this is the largest Math Thinking competition for all students aged 6-11 nationwide. The competition is not only an opportunity for students to exchange and learn from each other, but also an attractive playground for them to demonstrate their Mathematical skills and shine their talents.
According to the Organizing Committee, on November 12, the 324 best contestants in the Southern region will compete in the Final round taking place in Ho Chi Minh City.
